The Future of Mobile Technology

Sehabis kuliah Kapsel, aku terkesan dengan materi pada hari itu mengenai teknologi RFID. Tapi aku lebih tertarik pada pembukaan pertama oleh si pembicara yang memperlihatkan sebuah video mengenai perkembangan dunia mobile dan memperkirakan dunia mobile pada tahun 2020.

Video itu sendiri bisa dilihat di sini karena aku tidak bisa menguploadnya ke dalam blog ini.

Aku akan mencoba memberikan gambaran mengenai video tersebut.

Pada tahun 2020 mobile media communication sudah merubah ekonomi secara drastis begitu juga kehidupan sehari - hari kita. Everyone has access to information on his mobile devices and contribute to the community. Mobile has turned the world into a global information hope and has opened radical new business opprtunity.

Perjalanan mobile media revolution dimulai pada awal abad 20.

1906 - The first US patent for a wireless phone was registered

1973 - The first mobile phone call was placed in New York City

1979 - The first commercial mobile phones were presented in Tokyo

1982 - Nokia introduced its first portable phone

1991 - The first GSM network opened in Finland

1998 - The first mobile content, a ringtone was sold

1999 - The blackberry was introduced, starting the era of mobile email

2001 - The Third Generation (3G) was launched in Japan

2007 - We reached over 3 billion mobile phone subscribers. the introduction of the iPhone is the start of touch device era

2008 - Over 1 billion people have access to the internet while 600 million people have access to the web through the mobile handset

2009 - The social network Facebook welcomed its 200 million users while Twitter has becomed a mass phenomenon. We reach over 4 billion mobile phones subscribers

2010 - The offline and online world are getting closer (dunia offline dan online hampir bisa digabungkan)

2011 - Built in sensors like GPS, temperature, humidity, light or compass-chip creates new mobile business. The sensorconomy

2012 - We reach the barrier of 1 trillion network devices. eranya Machine to Machine (M2M)

2013 - is the year of mobile broadband

2014 - India, Africa have reached 70% of penetration rate

2015 - Mobile payment is becoming a mass phenomenon. Devices are adapting to our lifestyle and environment is the start of physical personal device. Nano technology enable physical transformation according to the use and complete personalisation in the process

2016 - The New York Times stops the delivery of printed newspaper and offers ePaper Readers for US$1. The other publishing companies follow in 2017 everyone reads the news on a plastic paper.

2017 - is the climax of mobile economy (pangsa pasar mobile lebih tinggi dibandingkan pangsa pasar manapun dijadikan satu). This year is the introduction of multi language with instant translation is bringing down the global information barriers for text and communication

2018 - The US Government start the initative to increase mobile public security, the Mobile Agenda. We reach more than 8 billion people worldwide, 5 billion have a mobile phone, 2.5 billion including mobile internet access

2019 - Privacy, information access and control have become a central issues in the world of economy. Cyber Security has become one of the most critical issues.

2020 - In the year 2020 our world of mobile media is disrutptive, engaging, interactive and controversial but truly international.

It is up to you how our future will look like.

Hanya saja menurutku seharusnya ada menyebutkan dimulainya era game portable seperti Gameboy, PSP, Nintendo DS dimana gadget tersebut menyediakan fasilitas - fasilitas menarik seperti Wifi, nonton video dan MP3.
